25 years of performance
Today is the 4th September 2023, exactly 25 years ago Google was founded.
And what an impressive performance over the last decades! If you invested $1.000 at the IPO in 2004 your stock position would have 40X ed resp. would today be worth more than $40.000. That’s an annualized performance of more than 20% per year! Warren Buffett was no better.
My view
Google or today Alphabet is an impressive success story but the business model is more than questionable. They earn their money with collecting user data and selling advertisements for special user groups to clients that are willing to pay for this focused offering. For me personally this is nothing I like and Google/Alphabet was despite the performance all these years not a stock I invest in.
Nevertheless you have to respect its one of the biggest Tech companies today and made its founders Page & Brin billionaires.
