The Buffett Era Is Over. The Abel Era Is Just Getting Started.

Greg Abel has been in full charge of Berkshire for nine months now. Buffett announced his successor back in the winter of 2025, so we have had some time to get used to the fact that the Buffett-Munger era is over and a new one is getting started.

Looking at the chart, it wasn’t the smoothest start. Berkshire stock corrected after the news in 2025 and has basically moved sideways ever since, while the S&P 500 climbed significantly. But the tide seems to be turning recently. Over the last six months, the chart has turned green, with $BRK up around 8%.

Abel is showing that his name might just be his motto: he is able to lead Berkshire, preserving the culture investors appreciate while bringing a more modern approach. He has deployed a meaningful amount of capital into tech giant Alphabet, continues to hold a large stake in Apple, and has made it clear that he intends to steer the ship with a steady hand.

I am confident this will pay off, and Berkshire could reach new ATHs in the coming months. My position continues to grow through DCA, and I believe Berkshire has a real chance of outperforming the broader market in the years ahead.
