A Monster Decade for Apple
Apple delivered a monster performance over the past decade, achieving a 10x return in roughly 10 years. That places it among the very best performers, even within the Magnificent 7. Only NVIDIA and Tesla managed even stronger returns. A ten-bagger in ten years translates to an annualized return of about 25%. World-class.
This performance is largely the work of CEO Tim Cook, who transformed Apple from a purely innovative tech company into a highly profitable ecosystem used by over a billion people every day. Today, the company generates roughly $100B in quarterly revenue and about $25B in quarterly net income, absolutely massive numbers. Next earnings report will be on the 29th January btw.
Now, there are rumors that Tim Cook may be planning to step down as CEO. We’ll see what the next era brings. He has led Apple since 2011, overseeing one of the most impressive value-creation stories in corporate history. I’m not sure whether his successor can deliver another 10x over the next decade, but I’m confident that Apple will continue to generate strong returns for investors.
