Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka have to be one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. In this video you can see us driving down the Makarora-Lake Hawea Rd heading for town Wanaka. I will never forget the amazing color of the lakes and those wonderful mountains on the other side of the lake. Btw, sorry for the shaky camera.
Lake Wanaka has an length of 42 kilometers (26.1 miles), estimated to be more than 300 m (980 ft) deep and is New Zealand's fourth largest lake.
Lake Hawea has an length of 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) and a depth of 392 meters (1286 ft).
