Five years ago, I was hustling my way to Brussels daily. Back when âWFHâ was just a typo for âWTFâ and Zoom was something you did with a camera lens. Do I miss the commute? Sure⊠sometimes. But not the everyday grind-your-soul-into-dust part.
What I do miss are moments like these. Early mornings or late afternoons when the sun hit just right, turning a grimy train station into a cinematic masterpiece. (Yes, even Brussels can look like an artsy movie scene if you catch it in peak golden hour and squint hard enough.)
Thereâs something about trains thatâs just magicalâunless you were stuck on one that broke down. But the rhythm of the tracks, the random strangers, and the endless inspiration for photos? Chefâs kiss.
Now? The commute is just from the kitchen to the laptop. More efficient, sure, but less âstop-and-smell-the-sunflare.â Would I go back? Maybe⊠for a day. With snacks.
So, letâs appreciate the grind we survived, the photos we captured, and the moments that made even the chaos worth it. Sometimes the journey really is the destination⊠unless youâre late.
