Depending on the issue, and where I am at that moment, I’m able to fix it quite fast :-)
Simply rebooting the bots, I can do from my iPhone. If it needs some reconfiguring, I prefer my computer, which I don’t always have access to :-) But even then, it only takes about 5 minutes or so.
The bots all use the same codebase, the difference lies in the configuration indeed. Why one breaks down more often than the other? Well, in order to not overload one single hive-node with a gazzillion requests from the same IP-address (of my server), I configured the different bots to use a shuffled list of nodes.
Just like !HOPE now, the problem was (again) not with the bot, but with the node. Normally, when a node goes “bad”, the bot should switch to another node automatically, however, depending on just how bad the node goes, it might keep the bot in a wait & try again state (which happened here).
I noticed a lot of issues with different (normally very stable and well regarded) nodes lately…
