Look, some mornings are just built different.
I was cruising toward the office — again — and just like before, the sun started pulling its golden-hour sorcery. But this time, instead of going for the canals and cathedral like every other sunrise romantic, I crossed over to the other side of the tracks. Literally. Parked near the Halle railway station, where the roof looks like an alien ship got drunk and landed sideways.
And thank the drone gods I did.
There’s something about watching a city wake up from a bird’s eye view. The chaos hasn’t kicked in yet. The streets are still quiet. The trains are lining up like they know they’re about to ruin someone’s commute. And then… boom — the light hits.
DJI Mini 3 Pro, airborne. No plan. Just vibes. And yup! Still waiting for that Mini 5 Pro... Can't fly the Mavic 4 in the city without planning up front...
What came next was part cinematic sunrise, part architectural fever dream.
That cathedral’s still doing its thing in the background, sure — but now the town looks alive. Organic. Connected. Like SimCity, but the version where your zoning laws actually work.
You see that? That’s not just light. That’s hope with gradients. Even the train station looks majestic. (And yes, I said that unironically.)
This one’s for the texture junkies. Trains, roads, and rooftops — all woven together like Belgium’s answer to urban origami. Bonus points if you spot the orange excavator living its best life.
Standing at street level, this spot just looks like a construction zone with extra honking. From above? It's geometry porn. The canal, the rails, the bridge — all in harmony while pretending they’re not.
I know I clown on it, but that roof is iconic. From up here, it’s like a seashell crashed into a spaceship and got gentrified. Glorious.
Seriously. I almost kept driving. Deadlines. Slack pings. A meeting with “alignment” in the title. But here’s the thing:
That sunrise wasn’t going to wait for me to finish my email.
And yeah, sure, once I landed the drone and walked into the office I got slapped by 43 unread messages and a double-booked calendar. But I walked in different.
Refreshed. Grateful. Creatively caffeinated.
Next time you’re on autopilot to whatever grown-up obligation is waiting for you, look around. If something catches your eye — a skyline, a sunrise, even a weird roof — stop. Launch. Capture it.
Because creativity doesn’t live in your Outlook calendar. It lives in moments like these.
