Part one: a lunch break stroll stretching 6km, with moody skies above and the canal reflecting every bit of it. Not exactly vibrant weather, but there’s something refreshing about grey clouds when you’re in the right headspace. Especially after my second bloodletting in just four weeks—wasn’t expecting to feel this good on my feet, but here we are.
Part two: a night walk. No scenic views, just the kind of pitch-black calm you only get when it’s just you and your kid walking together. My youngest is in recovery after back surgery, and while he’s still rebuilding, tonight felt like a milestone. Slow steps, careful pacing, no distractions—just presence.
Altogether? 7.5km. 9,000 steps. And a whole lot of perspective.
Some walks are for your body. Others are for your soul. This one? Both.
