Today was a battle against the elements, but Mother Nature and I called it a draw. With rain pouring down in the morning and the afternoon, my plans for three glorious walks were washed away. But who needs plans when you’ve got determination and a decent pair of walking shoes?
Come lunchtime, the clouds parted just enough for me to seize the moment and hit the trail. And boy, was it worth it! The canal was a picture of tranquility, with the boat gently gliding by and the sun peeking through the clouds, casting a dreamy light over the water.
I might have missed my morning and evening walks, but this midday escape was a win. I racked up 11k steps and covered 8.5km, all while soaking in the lush scenery. It’s days like these that remind me why I love this journey – it’s not just about the steps or the distance, it’s about finding those little pockets of beauty, no matter the weather.
