After my encounter with, Friends, the tv show. I began to search for a show that would replace it and satisfy my voracious thirst and hunger for laughter. Then came, The Big Bang theory. My first thought after encountering this movie in the year 2016 made me believe that the show was overrated and wasn't worth my time so I moved on after just one episode, which I now believe is because I have little to no solid foundation in science.
Years later, I encountered the show again, when my college roommate spoke highly of it. I began to question if it was still the same boring film that I watched years ago that made him laugh so much. So I gave it another try, and my blindfolds fell off, I saw the show for what it has always been about, and that is comedy.
The show centers on two highly intelligent individuals and physicists, Leonard Hofstadter(Johnny Galecki), and Sheldon Cooper(Jim Parsons) who are best friends and roommates. And although they are best of friends, Sheldon ( Jim Parsons) still has a way of making almost every moment of Leonard's life a living hell with his regimented, deeply eccentric, and unconventional ways. They are both friends with their colleagues at Cal Tech, Rajesh Koothrappali, and Howard Wolowitz, who are both Astrophysicists and Mechanical engineers respectively.
Everything in their life is seemingly going well despite their inability to get a girl. They spend the majority of their time working, playing video games, watching sci-fi movies, and reading comic books. But everything quickly changes when Penny(Kaley Cuoco), a beautiful aspiring actress, moves into the building and becomes their next-door neighbor, as Leonard made it his life's goal to win Penny's heart.

What I loved most about this show is the cast and their respective characters, but my favorite is Sheldon. His ability to be regimented, deeply eccentric, and unconventional proved to be more comical than annoying. Some of his very unconventional behavior includes knocking on a door repeated in a three-by-three sequence. And if for some reason the door swings open before he completes his count, he starts all over again.
Sheldon: Knock, Knock, Knock. Penny!
Sheldon: Knock, Knock, Knock. Penny!
Sheldon: Knock, Knock, Knock. Penny!
That is usually how the knock goes, and yes, Penny is always a victim of the Knock.
Another thing Sheldon does that I love is how he constantly gets on Leonard's nerves. Especially by altering the roommates' agreement which is never in Leonard's favor.
There are also very notable comedic interactions between Sheldon and the rest of the cast which are always funny and delightful.

When Leonard was still chasing penny
Sheldon:You're not done with her, are you?
Leonard Hofstadter: Our babies are gonna be smart and beautiful.
Sheldon: Not to mention imaginary.
Penny: So, what do you say, Sheldon, are we your X-Men?
Sheldon: No. The X-Men were named after the X in Charles Xavier. Since I am Sheldon Cooper, you will be my C-Men.
Howard Wolowitz: [as Sheldon walks away] Oh, that's not a good name.
Did you know ?
That whenever the characters sit to eat, the food props are real? It's because the prop master(Scott London) previously aspired to be a chef and as such, lovingly cooks every meal seen on screen. Something most sitcoms don't engage in.
Did you also know that most of the time Leonard has no lenses in his glasses?
Also in the first episode, the 100th episode, and the final episode, Penny is seen wearing the same shirt.
