I'd like to speak to you about Object Oriented Programming. I say I'd like to because I am way too confused about it to really talk about it.
I mean, I get the concept. Creating objects that can communicate with each other according to some basic programming rules. Even the in-class examples were pretty easy to grasp. But now that class is finished, and I'm writing and thinking it on my own, I'm checking my brain like "Damn weren't you in class with me? You're supposed to be helping out here."
The good news is that I was able to finish all my OOP homework before leaving class today. The bad news is that I needed a lot of help from my instructors on this one. Fortunately I found a couple of OOP-related resources on the interwebs to help explain things to me. I'm starting with FreeCodeCamp's "How to explain object-oriented programming concepts to a 6 year old". There are diagrams too. I think this will be helpful.
Too bad I can't really focus on these resources with the weather-related ruckus going on outside my door. Monsoon season in Las Vegas sometimes means rain, but it often means high winds. Windstorms and dust storms out here can be pretty fierce. And tonight is no exception. Wind gusts strong enough to move my barbeque grill around my backyard. Tomorrow is going to be a day full of cleanup.
My Etsy clone is just about done. 95% of the site is completed. The only thing remaining for me is to make it responsive enough to show up on very small mobile screens. So that means having a lot of the menus readjusted to display very differently. There are a few things that just aren't coming together. Everything else, I'm proud of it.
Its Monday and I'm sure that most of this week will be devoted to OOP. Hopefully I'll get it before the weekend homework assignment is due. And hopefully this wind will stop by then too.
