The thing was built in the early eighties ...
... when the mass tourism in Yugoslavia was about to reach its peak.
Usually, I don't care much about tourism and related stuff ...
... but the architecture of this summer place caught my attention.
It's kind of elegant. Especially when compared with massive boxes built nowadays in my area.
It resembles a real Mediterranean village, or even more, some kind of idealized vision made of tourism-friendly elements of the village ...
... with the shady, narrow streets ...
... and parking lots that look like a square in the neighborhood's center.
The small apartment buildings are pretty cool ...
... I found quite a few photogenic details ...
... and perspectives ...
... practically from every angle.
It looks like an inspired, well-thought project with a recognizable style on display.
Of course, not everything is exactly like it was when the resort was freshly built ...
... some details and some buildings have gone through various kinds of changes through time ...
... but the place still encapsulates the atmosphere of a relatively cheap tourist paradise in the eighties.
Especially now, in winter, with no people and only a couple of cars around.
Among many small streets, or more like passages that have no name ...
... there is one that continues into the neighboring neighborhood and has a name.
I saw only one person during the three hours that I spent in the deserted resort on the 11th day of January 2022, when these photographs were taken.
The plumber was there with his van.
While rambling around, I was mostly focused on details.
This is a detail of the canopy above some stretches of the parking lot.
Some of these constructions looked designed, others more like improvised.
The place was very clean.
I found only this little piece of garbage that looks almost like a souvenir, a reminder that the summer was here and will come again.
This row of antennas and very basic chimneys was kind of asking to be photographed. Despite their simplicity (or maybe exactly because of it), they looked too photogenic to be ignored.
A small metallic chimney has entered the post only as a shadow.
Plants were helping the architecture to create a nice, inviting atmosphere. I saw the usual palms, the most common element of tourism-related gardening in this area.
Yucca plants were also there. They created some nice shadows.
Agaves, big and small, combined with some architectural elements, created this pretty neat composition.
Not far from there, on the corner ...
... I encounter the Opuntia cacti.
The ivy ...
... was planted to create a lush, evergreen tapestry ...
... on these structures ...
... the relatively small parking sheds that look kind of exclusive when compared to the large canopies shown earlier in this post.
These geometric prefabricated decorations were very popular here ...
... back then in the eighties.

A bit further, I found another similar artwork.
This lighthouse is much bigger.
It looks like an interesting cartoon character.
While walking around a cluster of apartments with this design ...
... the most iconic part of this resort ...
... I found a couple of cheap garden sculptures made of plaster. There was this funny snail with a shell that looks like crap - literally. I don't wanna say that is bad, it just looks like a spiral, cartoonish piece of excrement.
These emotional kids were petrified behind the snail.
In the corner of that same small yard, very difficult to photograph, there was this old stork.
Here you can see the passage that leads to one of the small apartments of the neighboring building.
After three hours of sniffing around, it was time to go home.
While walking back to the car ...
... I collected a few more details. Patterns ...
... simple geometric elements ...
... and decorative shadows. This one was made by the oleander tree.
Here you can see the large, intricate shadow of a fig tree.
Some smaller, herbaceous plants have added their elegant shadows to that temporary decoration on the wall.
Before driving away I photographed the private parking place not far from my car.
