The year is ending in a gray, humid atmosphere. No snow. No frost. Just a bit of annoying rain is coming down every few hours, day after day, and I saw & heard three weather forecast persons on three different TV channels say that will be that way for the next few weeks or so.
I took a walk in that lackluster winter wonderland yesterday and came back home with a bunch of photographs and a few impressions. It wasn't much of an experience, but it was enough for a lazy Sunday post.
After driving a couple of kilometers to the small harbor in the bay of Liznjan, I parked on the large flat lawn with two beach bars on it. The beach and the harbor share the same bay.
It wasn't raining when I arrived, but it started very soon, so I found shelter under the sunshades of those bars. With nothing else to do, I started exploring the summer terraces in search of something worth photographing and posting about. It took me a couple of shots to realize that the beach bars aren't too bad of a theme. "Yeah!" I thought "Beach bars in winter sounds like a fairly good title."
And now, I'm sitting in my chair, trying to come up with something to write in between the photographs.
Here you can take a look at the ceiling above the terrace. The nets are there as decoration, I suppose. In summer, when the terrace is filled with people, glasses, dishes, and all kinds of colorful stuff, they probably resemble fishing nets or maybe even stylized waves, but now, in an empty bar on a rainy day, those things look more like giant cobwebs to me. And I like them for that.
Here you can see one of the simple white lamps that illuminate the terrace on hot summer nights when people and mosquitoes are buzzing in the bay.
This photograph was taken when the rain started and I was approaching the bar. It's a bit blurred because I was hurrying to protect the camera. Can tell you exactly why, but the empty Coca-Cola fridge looks kinda glamorous to me. Maybe is the vivid color.
The wooden terrace is, quite appropriately, surrounded by a wooden fence.
I mean, only partially. But still quite appropriately.
I had about half an hour before the rain, so I photographed this strange place by the side of the road that leads to the beach.
A beach volleyball court covered with nylon foil to keep the sand in place.
From a low angle, the heavy sacks filled with sand looked kinda epic.
You can see another beach bar in this photograph.
Here you can take look at its front terrace.
The small covered terrace behind the bar is a storage filled with various summer stuff.
Here you can take a look at the ground and the low vegetation on the flat terrain behind the bar.
The large parasol was also laying there. I mean, down on the ground and near the bar.
Here you can take one last look from the front terrace. The post will end in three seconds. One. Two. Three. THE END
AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
