It all started many months ago in the city of Paradis, the biggest city in the whole game. I went there as a special representative of the Aedyran Emperor, whose ambition to buy or conquer this remote island called the Living Lands is well known to both Aedyrans and the islanders.
Upon entering the city, right at the main gate, I was shot with a poisoned arrow and killed. How I came back from the dead and continued my mission is a long story I don't intend to recount in this post. All you need to know here is that, at some point in the game, after many adventures that built my skills, strength, and character, I decided to investigate my own murder and get my revenge.

In this opening screenshot, you can see my elven avatar standing in one of the squares of the Paradis Hightown district. The large, beautiful, church-like building in front of me is the Temple of Ondra. After a long, complicated investigation, I learned that the subversives who wanted and organised my death sentence may be hiding somewhere in the stretch of underground accessible through that holy place.

This is the temple's interior. The lack of ordinary worshippers was quite noticeable and suspicious.

It was time to have a few words with the High Priestess of Ondra. Ondra is the goddess of the sea. Since the Living Lands is an island surrounded by plenty of sea, Ondra must be an important divinity. All the islanders directly or indirectly depend on the trade that goes by sea.
After a long, winded conversation, I managed to convince the priestess to reveal the presence of the local anti-Aedyrans activists in the catacombs and sewers under the temple. I granted her immunity and a well-paid job as a spy for the Aedyran Empire.

In this screenshot, you can see me in the Temple's back room that serves as some kind of storage, facing the door that leads to the mysterious and probably dangerous underground.

It was pretty humid down there, and that's good, becouse the glowing mushrooms have grown big. They were very helpful in illuminating that dark, dusty place.

Soon upon entering the underground, I had to fight the local anti-Aedyran rebels. They looked a bit like Nijas, all dressed in black, and with their heads covered by hoodies. In this screenshot, you can see a few corpses of my enemies. I didn't take screenshots during the fight becouse, you know...fighting is a demanding activity that usually requires all of your strength and concentration.

A bit later, I came across this chest that looks quite promising. I can't remember what was inside, but I probably got blessed with something useful.

Here you can see some lovely columns. It's a nice piece of underground architecture.

At some point, the tunnels led me into a relatively large cave.

Here you can see some cool rocks and mushrooms.

I took this screenshot a minute before entering another tunnel.

Here you can see me standing in the midlle of an underground crossroads of sorts. The road to the rebel's den was longer than I expected.

I can't tell you what the function of the stone structures shown in this picture is, but they look like interesting architectural elements; that's for sure.

A bit later, I climbed the stairs that led to the place shown in this screenshot. Here you can see the underground from a different, elevated perspective.

Here you can see me posing for another screenshot, crouched at the entrance of another large underground room. In between all these screenshots, I had to fight the rebels, but you can't see those fights becouse, you know...I'can't take selfies while dealing with people who are trying to kill me.

There's nothing special here, just more of the same generic underground atmosphere.

At some point, I came across a very dangerous stretch of tunnels, a trap made of enormous swinging blades.

No amount of strength can lead you through this danger; only agility and good timing can get you to the other side.

After leaving the blades behind, it was time to open the door shown in this screenshot.

Soon, I entered a room with two enemies.

The fight wasn't long, but it was quite intense.

When this screenshot was taken, I was traversing an interesting underground area with some nicely decorated columns. A bit later ...

...I reached the rebel headquarters. Before the anti-Aedyrans attacked me, I had the oportunity to talk peacefully with their leader, the dude who killed me. At this point in the game, you can choose to keep things peaceful or to unleash your rage and try to kill them all.

After hearing their reasons and ideology, I opted for peace in this playthrough. It was cool to meet these former enemies later in the game, in very different circumstances.

As the ending of a story within the bigger story of the game, it felt very satisfying, but as revenge, it was quite underwhelming.

The rebels left the Temple's underground, and soon the worshipers occupied the benches in front of Ondra's altar.

And that's it; the post ends here - THE END.
