The photographs I'm about to show you in this post were all taken a decade ago. In the early autumn of 2013. I went for an evening walk by the sea, here in my hometown, and I took a bunch of photographs along the way. That's it. Just another walk down memory lane. You can follow me if you wish. I used the "night view" option of my small compact camera, an option that produces the greenish tinge seen in this opening picture.
The street lamps looked surprisingly good that evening. I mean, I'm pretty sure that the lamps looked as usual, but on that occasion, I must have noticed their visual appeal. I don't photograph the street lamps very often. In the background, you can see the church tower of Premantura, the village across the bay.
Here you can see the sun going down in Vizula, the part of the bay near the harbor.
At some point, I passed by the public showers on the beach. Their silhouettes looked unexpectedly interesting but I didn't do anything interesting with those shapes in this relatively dull photograph. In the following shot ...
... I created a considerably better composition. A small change of angle can mean a lot. The originals were greenish just like the first photograph of this post. Today, while preparing the post, I decided to present them in black & white which gives a more serious tone to the scene.
These two shots were taken a bit earlier, in the center of the old town -not far from the main square. You can see one of the old houses that give a lot of personality and atmosphere to the place.
While passing by one of the streetlamps in the harbor, I noticed a distant airplane in the dark blue sky, so I stopped to take this photograph in which you can see the greenish lamp and the nice contrail colored a bit like a flame or something similar.
A bit later I was passing by some bungalows near the sea. Reflected in the many windows, the evening looked great.
When I reached the roofed terrace of the last hotel on the outskirts of town, it got really dark. That's why the above photograph is very grainy.
The shot is far from being well-made technically but it's good enough to convey a bit of the crepuscular atmosphere.
