You mean the hysterical type of report? Yes, you can say so.

It may say nothing wrong per se but still be completely misleading. Like, they are gonna' report that, say, 100 people died of COVID in your town last month but forget to mention the fact that 50 of them were in there 90's and anther 40 in their 80's, and only ten of them were relatively young, and none under 55. Or something like that.

So of course without a context to it you would likely end up far more anxious then you would otherwise.
