The humans pictured above are entrepreneurs who are working on a project to open a bar, restaurant and dog park all rolled into one in Everett, Massachusetts which is a suburb just north of Boston. This grew out of frustration with the dearth of places where humans and dogs can hang out in Boston. Dogspeed to them!
Mostly, various restrictions on dog presence is motivated by health concerns. But those concerns may be misplaced as, excepting those with outright allergies or other specific conditions, dog-specific microbiome (i.e., bacteria and other microorganisms dogs exhale or carry on their hide) actually helps humans keep their immune systems in shape, based on a sizable body of research. And, of course, dogs are just awesome to have around.
