Journal of a Journey Introduction Chapter 1 in next post.
I'm a writer. I write, write, write then I edit and polish. Since I have to edit this manuscript I thought, hey, why not blog post chapters...It gives me something to post and I would love it if someone actually read it. If not here then after publishing. One way or another this journal will end up exactly where God wants it to be. It is a testament to answered prayers, the devil hates it so it just makes me want to do it that much more. I hate him too.
My prayer for the readers of this book and for myself in the writing thereof.
Dear Lord, deliver us from anger and self-pity. Help us trust YOU for acceptance. Surely Lord as Your Word tells us so clearly in Ecclesiastes 7:20-- there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning. Thank you, God for forgiving our sins and helping us to forgive others. Thank you for delivering us from the traps of bitterness, fear and anger. Thank you for calling us “friends”. Bless the readers of this book that they will enjoy a blessing from sharing in the experiences of my life. In Jesus’ Holy Name, I pray. Amen.
Please pray with me and keep this in mind as I share my journal, my journey and my walk with God.
For over ten years our lives have been an open book, and we have not had an opportunity to respond. This is my response. I forgive the Adders, (whom you will soon meet), however I do have a response.
Oh and one more confession before I get started here: This one may come as a surprise and a shock to my family and friends,
My hero has not ever really been a cowboy
I am pleased and delighted to be able to share with you a portion of my journal consisting of documentation written over the last 20 years, give or take a month or two. The act of journaling makes me stronger and allows me to examine and understand my prayers, by recording them.
Today in the spring of 2005 I can glance back into the ‘90’s and clearly see how God answered prayers in my life. I see the pattern of life’s valleys evolving into mountains. Mountains gracefully slopping gently back into valleys, dumping despair in the valley, where it belongs. Claiming the victory on the mountain top, every time. Only by the grace of God am I here today to share this incredible story with you. I want you to come away from reading this book with a fresh perspective on your own life and your own journey. Every journey needs a journal and every life is a journey.
As I prepared to write this book I realized that no one really wants to read a story about a bitter, nasty, unjust court preceding that lasted seven years. That was my first motivation in writing.
After some prayer and some honest editing from a dear friend the perspective and goal of the book transformed into something different.
I don’t think I would want to read another story of failed American justice. But without telling you about the valley you would not understand the mountain top.
