At first I thought it was a predator fly that was fighting this rather large victim and then all of a sudden flew away with the prey.
In terms of appearance, however, it reminds me more of a dancing fly. I have to admit, however, that I have only seen a few predator flies so far. Because predatory flies and dance flies are somehow similar. The meadow widow flowers growing all over the meadows were visited by dancing flies this morning. 馃槉 After all, dance flies catch other small insects or pollinate flowers. They are mostly found in the vicinity of damp forests or bodies of water. These flies are easily recognizable by the long, protruding proboscis.
