RE: Steemit will fail if whale-votes are not capped - draining the reward-pool is like watching politicians steal money from the people!
If you don't like the current witnesses, you can always vote for one of the other ones in the top 50 using the web interface. If you don't like those choices, you can learn to use the cli wallet and vote

RE: When People Tell Me We Need Government
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think we can even scale that down and say some power corrupts somewhat. There will always be crooked people that manage to find themselves in government.

RE: What Will Happen to Steemit Once a Global Entity Controls ICANN?
The main assumption here is that the US government has the best interests of the whole world at heart. I would have preferred it if the US had spun this off as a non-profit private corporation rather than

RE: Exchange Transfer Report Summary: 06/01/2016 to 08/19/2016
$0.14/$0.86 equals a little over 16%. (You get a dollar worth of steem if you convert steem dollars to steem.)

If I were a speculator, I would prefer making 16% in one week rather than 10% in one year, if the market can hold up.

Thanks for the data. It appears some investors feel that they can buy steem dollars at a discount and convert to steem, and be better off. The risk is that one needs to wait a week and the steem market

RE: "Our Corrupt Sense of Fairness" or Steemit's Incessant Rule Changes?
Steemit is still in beta, so I would expect the rules to change frequently. Also, I don't mind the last hardfork at all. One particular person found an exploit with the mining algorithm, and dominated

No, I am describing a "quasi-star." Science actually doesn't know for sure what the progenitors of supermassive black holes were. There are several hypotheses at this time.

Although the gas may eventually become compressed enough to start fusion, if there is enough gas falling in, the fusion will never produce sufficient energy to counter the crushing gravity. A relative

I'll have to disagree with your explanation of the genesis of supermassive black holes. these monsters probably formed by the direct collapse of the huge amounts of gas present in the centers of these

It would have to be a rotating black hole, and you would have to manage to travel through the center of the ring singularity. This journey would probably destroy everything but a fundamental particle.

Once the light crosses the event horizon, it only has one path, and that is toward the singularity at the center of the black hole. It could not escape the black hole, so we would never see it.
