The second span of the Padma bridge may be placed tomorrow or Friday.
A crane with heavy weight of about 3,000 tons and 150 meters long span left Mawa last Saturday.
It will be placed on the 38th and 39th pillars of Jazira. Padma bridge will be created with 41 such spans.
The bridge division planned to install the span on Sunday, the Division of Bridges. But due to the dense fog, it was delayed due to the crane and heavy loads in the river.
Apart from this, due to lack of water in the channel prepared for the bridge, there is a problem of rotating the floating crane with the span. So the river is being excavated there.
Bridge division officials said that on Saturday afternoon, the Spanish sprinter Crane traveled from Jupiter to Mawer's construction site.
Crane has the capacity to carry 3,600 tons of weight. It will take three days to reach the pillar. But due to dense fog, the crane could not go to the destination at a given speed. On Wednesday, the span reached the number 33 on Wednesday.
Dewan Abdul Kader, the executive engineer of Padma bridge project (main bridge) said that the span is being carried out on the Jazira edge with floating crane.
There is some work to do in the river to take the span. It may be placed on pillar (pillar) on Friday after reaching Jazira edge on Thursday.
