This is my first time of participating in the daily celestial challenge initiated by @ sirknight so be nice and kindly upvote, thanks! Theme for today is structures.
This is the Tafawa Balewa Square(TBS)

Its a very significant place in Nigeria, named after the first prime minister in Nigeria Tafawa Balewa, TBS was where Nigeria's independence celebration took place on October 1st 1960.it is a large 14.5 hectares ceremonial ground, situated at Awolowo Rd, Onikan, Lagos Island, Lagos state.

It has some remarkable monuments. They include statues of gargantuan horses hovering above the gate and seven red eagles on the topmost part of the gate, which are symbolizes strength and dignity from the national emblem,
there is also the Remembrance Arcade (with memorials to WWI, WWII and civil-war victims) and the 26-storey Independence House, built in 1963 which was for a long time the tallest building in Nigeria.

The Tafawa Balewa Square is the site of the Independence day celebration of Nigeria from colonial rule, it also serves as a monument of remembrance to victims of World war I and II and also the Nigerian Civil war, it has a capacity for 50,000 people and it has been used for numerous activities from musical concerts to church crusades etc. It was originally known as 'race course'.
