This is a hard one for me. I tell the truth to a fault. I know why I lie when I do, but I also know that it is so seldom for me to tell somebody something that isn't true; however, the most recent one was within the last week or so...

The only "lie" I can think of is more in line with story telling than it is a lie. It is Christmas season. My "lies" at this time of year are more about the mysteries of Santa Claus and how he does things. I think the most recent one was when I sent a picture of a toy to a contact in my phone listed as "Santa Claus" and showed my son that I had just sent the picture to Santa Claus. The response I got back from this contact said, "Ho ho ho...that's a great toy idea for my son's name here. He's been a great boy and I appreciate the suggestion!" or something to that point. It brought a smile to my son's face and a chance for him to feel special and share that information with his younger sister.

Otherwise, lies that I tell are usually done by accident. By the time I finish saying them, I can't believe it had come out of my mouth, and it's usually when I'm bragging about something and I go just a little more hyperbolic to stretch the truth for self-aggrandizement. My biggest weakness is pride. It's my "favorite sin," if you will.

How about you? What was your most recent lie? Why'd you do it? Write it in a post and put your link here in the comments or mention me in your post. I got the idea from tripode@tripode from the #bloggingchallenge Part 04.
