I have fallen behind on posting, commenting, and upvoting because (foolishly) I am getting rough estimates on building a small house. It appears that contractors don't know what to think of my requests and changes - a safe room/walk-in closet for protection from tornadoes, hurricanes, and Georgia Nazis/klansmen/nationalists, cement tile roof for fire protection, saltwater pool for skin protection, screening over courtyard because we have bugs the size of small planes here, and of course solar panels out the wazoo. This isn't the first time contractors have looked at me like I am crazy and shrugged their shoulders, and it won't be the last. While I go over the plans and changes with this last contractor over cocktails, here is an illustration of the small house plan before my ten to fifteen changes. I promise to get back to Steeming tomorrow. Enjoy the break!
