It has been a few days since I posted. I have not had much to say so I spent time observing and calculating returns. During this time, I learned that down voting bots have been making themselves known on Steemit. Yes, down-vote, not up-vote. Why they are doing this I do not know. There is no apparent reason as to why and who they down-vote/flag, they just do. A gang of trolls have also been going after those who are LGBT, liberal, progressive, anti-Putin, etc. Two regular LGBT/Progressive posters I know have left Steemit in the last week over their down voting and flagging activity. I guess that is what you get with this type of platform. The ability to block users would have been a smart move if the down-vote option exists, but I guess that doesn't fit into the "free speech" and "uncensored" goal of Steemit as a social media platform.

Speaking of blockchain social media platforms, I have dabbled in all except Mithra to see how they compare to Steemit.

Onenamesocial/ONG seem to be dead in the water. I see no activity and no progress on getting their token system going.

Minds has no plan to give their token monetary value. It is also extreme far right and conspiracy theory occupied.

Narrative is still in the early stages of deciding which earliest adopters get the biggest payouts on each and every post in the future. I see no future for it, however.

Ono hasn't opened to users.

Lit is a selfie platform. If you like selfies and are a young woman, this one may be for you.

Sola is similar to Lit.

Overall, I see no competitor threat to Steemit. The biggest threat comes from Steemit users and bots. All of this begs the question, what is my new strategy? I do not have one. The down-vote/flag bot found me so posting will not happen often - if ever. I will comment on and like posts. I won't invest in the platform if it is being destroyed from within, so my Steemit strategy is best described as lurking and surfing between the Steem sharks.
