Nice post.
Entitlement in the United States usually refers to people that feel they deserve preferential treatment because of a condition that they had nothing to do with. Anglo-Saxon. From a rich family. The family member of someone who earned their stature. They are riding the coat tails of other's efforts, whether legitimate or ill-gotten. Deserving more because of troubles their past generations suffered through.
Preferential treatment for what someone legitimately did? That's not called entitlement. That's called acknowledgement. Recognition. Gratitude.
