Iya ilu is a leading drum accompany by other drums to create a rythmic melody. It's is also referred to as the talking drum as it can also be use to pass across message.
Iya ilu is common in the western part of Nigeria. And it serve as inherited occupation for some family. The energy and lively spirit the drummer put into drumming give it an wholesome performance.
What I am trying to say is that, it's isn't just about drumming but performing as well as it involves every part of your body and even the performer spirit is engaged in the process.
