Gaining money when a security is rising is just a wonderfull feeling! But when a security goes down, it's just terrible. Holding a security for a long time ("hodling") may be a good strategy. But you never know what will happen in the future. Thats why you might consider another strategy.

When the cryptocurrency market is correcting or even going into a bear trend, you might want to go in fiat like usd $ or euro €. These currencies have a relative constant value. There is a cryptocurrency called tether (usdt) which has the same value as the usd. But you might want to avoid tether because their existence is a bit fishy (because of money printing).

If you are not comfortable with holding your cryptocurrencies during a correction or a bear market, you can go into fiat.
Coinbase offers a reliable exchange between some bigger cryptocurrencies (in marketcap) and fiat. But Coinbase has some disadvantages compared to some other exchanges. GDAX and coinbase are exchanges from the same organisation but GDAX has some advantages compared to Coinbase. GDAX offers great charts, orderbook, limit orders, stop loss, etc..

When the market is forming a bottom, you could buy more cryptocurrencies with the same amount of money.

I just want to give my humble opinion on some products by doing technical analysis. There may be some minor and/or major flaws. Nobody is perfect and I'm willing to learn from my mistakes through your opinions. Thank you.
