5th Steemit Chess Tournament Concluded and to be fair I am disappointed with the attendance as there were people complaining there were no tournaments aimed at the asian region with their time zone, so I made a tournament for them but sadly nobody from the Asian Region came. So it was disappointing.
However on more positive note still some of us could enjoy the tournament and those of you who came took home easy prizes with less competition than usual!
This time we counted with the participation of @modnar, @greatwolf and @bmwaso. Thank you to everyone who came to participate and compete!
The prizes were just delivered! Congratulations to the winners!
New Champion!
With the absence of the usual heavyweights such as @schamangerbert and @krasirmirkolev, @greatwolf managed to take 1st place finish for first time and win the tournament without single defeat and scoring 8 points. Out of the 3 games he played he struggled only in his last game vs @modnar where he managed to win despite having disadvantageous position with 2 pawns less and was lacking behind in time. Very well played @greatwolf. Hope to see you doing well again in the tournaments to come.
@modnar playing with the blacks couldn't finish @greatwolf even having 2 more pawns and leading on the time clock. @greatwolf vs @modnar.
However only 6.9 SBD were given out because of lack of participants.
The 2.1 SBD left are going to be added to the prize pool for the next tournament!
Update on the prize pool for next tournament will be posted the following days.
Any of the funds gathered by this post will be used to fund future tournaments & contests! I will be writing an update about next tournament soon, so stay tuned up!
A Special Thanks to @marty-art for Providing the Awesome Chess Pictures and to @schamangerbert for the Promoting and Financial help!
