Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt." - Abraham Lincoln.

The above quote has been a source of companion since either grade 5 or 6 if I can clearly recall. I've always reflect on how this very quote has made me a better person.

I clearly recall the assignment that introduced me to this quote. Our teacher asked us to bring some proverbs from home as assignment, many of my classmates went home and copied some verses from the book of Proverbs in the Bible. After submission our teacher noticed that majority of us went to the Bible and copied some verses from the book of Proverbs. She then went to the board and explained the assignment before writing out some proverbs, then she asked use to recite them but the only one that resonated with me was "better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to remove out all doubt" something about the proverb felt true with I read it from the board.

I've learned to build my personality from this quote. I became more reserved and I also learned how to use my words carefully. The proverb has thought me how to weigh my thoughts before speaking. People can heal from wounds and will always find it difficult to heal from hurtful words. This quote has been a guiding principle to me over the years. it's better to listen and observe rather than speaking impulsively.

I've learned the value of silent and thoughtful communication. I've learned to be very intentional about my words, choosing to speak when necessary and being silent when it's best. Over the years this very quote has helped me avoid unnecessary conflicts and build stronger relationships.

I've learned to prioritize quality over quantity in my interactions, focusing on meaningful connections rather than trying to fill every moment with words.

I will forever be grateful to God for the influence of this quote in my life. It always reminds me that less is more. It has made me avoided hurting others and maintaining meaningful connections. This quote continues to inspire me to be a better person, and I'm thankful for its enduring impact.

I remember how I've struggled several times to balance silence and my self expression. Many people hated me for being reserved and for my silence, but this quote has taught me that true wisdom lies in knowing when to speak anf when to listen.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" has become a part of my identity, it has helped shape my interaction and relationships. I'm glad it taught me valuable lessons. I'll hold onto this quote's message, using it to guide me through life's challenges and opportunities.
