Stressed? Feeling anxious? Tired mentally and emotionally? Uninspired? Maybe you lack some essential vitamin? How about a dose of vitamin sea?
Being in the sea has benefits vital to our well being. Listening to the sound of the sea relaxes the mind. Looking and listening to the sea waves can reduce our stress level. Also, it helps awaken the artistic side of us, as the blue sea brings calm and sparks creativity. So calm with me, I'll share with you my sea experience.
The place that I will be featuring today is such a special place for me. It is a place full of sweet memories as this place was our favorite hangout with my friends back when I was in high school. Yay! I feel nostalgic at the moment as I remember those the beautiful memories we made in this place.
Here in our simple town, I bring you to the Diving Board in Bontoc, Hindang, Leyte. If you want to take deep dip into the sea and feel adrenalin rushing through your veins then this is a place for you.

Hindang borders the town of Inopacan in the north and Hilongos in the South. The nearest way to get here if you are from other provinces is to take a sea travel from Cebu to the port of Hilongos. From Hilongos you can take a minubus or cab. The fare is Php 23.00 if you take a mini bus for a 15-20 minute ride. Diving Board is just a few steps from the National Road. If you happen to land in Tacloban City, the town is a 2.5 to 3 hours travel by van. There are no signages. The mark to know you are at the right place is a statue of a giraffe and two women and a horse at the side of the road.

Upon arriving the area, take a few steps to the shore and you'll get there. Going to the diving board you have to walk a narrow bridge which is 2 feet wide and around 30 meters long extending towards the deeper part of the sea. By the way, there is an entrance fee of Php 10.00 (0.2$).
After paying the fee St. Peter will open the door to heaven. 馃榿. Just kidding. Well, additional info, this place is very festive and lively during the St. Peter and Paul's day. The locals here celebrate this day by preparing palaro (games) for in goers and the locals. Many people come here during that day since our way to celebrate St. Peter and Paul's day is by having a swim at the sea with friends and family.

The walk towards the diving board is not for the faint-hearted. It is a narrow walk and if you have fear of heights this might not work for you. You might get dizzy and fall into the water. Make sure you know how to swim. There are bamboo railings you can grab but you have to be extra careful it is not well fixed.
Halfway of the narrow walk on the bridge, you'll get to a cottage. Here if you think you are fainting, you can stop, relax and breath in the sea breeze. 馃槄 You can also enjoy the view of the sea and go fish hunting.
Yeah, a few more steps and I'll get there, I gathered again my courage to walk the narrow bridge. 馃槀. [Mirisi!] But there is no turning back now, I am almost there.
In the diving board a large statue of Christ will welcome you reminding you not to fear coz He is with you all the days of your life and as you walk the narrow path of life.

Finally, I made it! I arrived in the diving board. This is where the fun happens. As I look back to where I started, I was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery. I realized, I only get to enjoy and appreciate this beautiful view when I got here. The view of the shore backdopped by the magnifecent beauty of Mt. Bontoc and the blues sky painted with delicate clouds gives you that sense of fulfillment for not giving up on walking the narrow path. Just like life isn't it? You have to reach your goal for you taste the fruits of you hardships.
There two diving board for those who are brave and adventurous enough to jump or dive into the deep sea. The five is around 10 feet high or more. The sea below where you make you dive is around 10 feet deep. Will you go for it?
At the diving boards you will have a panoramic view of the sea and the shores. You can also see the Four Scenic Islands of Leyte namely Himokilan, the biggest Island, Apid, Mahaba and Digyo which are also one of the tourist destination here in Leyte. While at it, you can sit on the bench, relax your mind with the blue sea and sky, inhale the salty air and just be surrounded by the immense sea and let your worries be washed away.
There is also a narrow stairway you can go down or climb up after a dive. I went down to check how it looks like down below. It is also a very narrow stairway. So again I need to be extra careful.
After a few more minutes of soaking my self in the beauty if the sea and taking in my dose of vitamin sea. I felt energized and revitalized. I went back to the shore. Though I know I have to go through that narrow path again, I know I am stronger. I would be easier now. 馃榿 As what my mom always tell me when I young, you know how to go up, you must know how to go down.
That's it for today dear hivers. I hope you had a great time. Enjoy the rest of the week. Don't forget to take a dose of your vitamin sea. Love lots!
