Happy Valentines Day dear friends of hive!
What a a wonderful day to celebrate love whatever kind it is. My social media feed have been flooded with posts that show people expressing their love through giving of flowers and chocolates to their significant others and to the people they cared for like their parents, siblings, friends, or even teachers.
I haven't gotten one flower, poor me. Lol! 馃槅 I don't mind though because I can buy myself flowers hahah. Really, I am happy with my marriage, we are in a stable relationship and no flowers or chocolates can be of measure of the level of love and commitment we have for each other.
It rained today. I usually love to listen to music when it rains. And while checking on hive posts to curate I came across a post about #ThreeTuneTuesday initiated by @ablaze. What a coincidence that while listening to music I was able to read about this.
Since it's Valentine's day I would love to share three of my most favorite OPM songs that express love in different situations. OPM means Original Pinoy Music, or original songs composed and sang by my fellow Filipinos.
So here's my #TTT, songs of love.
This song was originally sang by the group called Smokey Mountain and revived by MYMP. This version is the revived version of MYMP.
What I love about the song is its sweet melody that is so soothing to hear coupled by that beautiful and emotional voice of the band's lead singer Juris. Once you hear it, the melody automatically registers in your mind and you'll find yourself humming to its melody.
I also feel nostalgic everytime I listen to this song as this is a popular song during my childhood days and the lyrics talks about young unrequited love for someone she has not even introduced herself to. She keep doings things that might get the attention of that person to make him noticed her but sadly the person doesn't seem to notice her feelings. You know that feeling when you have a crush and you just couldn't tell the person.
This song is actually a sad song as the lyrics talks about trying to hold on to a love or a relationship that is already broken.
Though it's breakup song but the tune, the melody and the beat of the song is a little jolly. I could imagine when you are broken hearted and you hear the song. You will probably be banging and dancing to the beat while crying your heart out. 馃槄
The guitar playing at the start of the song until the second stanza and in the last part of the song is really nice to hear.
I fall in love over and over again to this song by the singer dubbed as Asia's songbird, Regine Velasquez. I don't care if the rain would fall harder because of my voice but I just couldn't resist singing to the tune of this song. This song is so perfect during the rainy days as the lyrics expresses that outpouring love you feel to a person just like the rain.
There is power in music as it helps in healing and a way of expressing what we feel when words fail.
Thank you taking time to listen. I hope you love the songs.
