Hello dear hive friends!
In my previous blog , I mentioned about visiting Cebu City. One thing I love about the city is the mall. In our province I have to travel at least two hours to visit a mall and that mall can't even be compared to the grandeur of the malls in Cebu City.
After we toured around Cebu Ocean Park which was our main destination, we walked to SM Seaside City Cebu which is just a walking distance and located opposite to Cebu Ocean Park.
The mall is the largest mall in Cebu and ranks 4th largest in the Philippines. It has a circular shape overlooking the sea.
As we walked towards the mall, I found these trees, lined up along the pathway and it caught my attention. Looking at it, these were just usual trees with green leaves and not much beauty can be seen as they were recently pruned.
But when I saw the leaves that grow at the bottom part of the tree trunk, I noticed its colors are different from the leaves above. It has autum colors of red and light yellow. I wonder what tree is this. Haven't seen one like this in my hometown. Do you know what is the name of this tree?
We headed inside to have our lunch. The kids were already complaining that they were hungry. It was lunch time when we went out of Ocean Park.
After having lunch, we walked around the mall until our feet lead us to the sky park located in the third floor of the building.
We pass through a short alley. On one side of the walls is a cool artwork which amazes me. It is a mural promoting the wonders of the province of Cebu including its rich history and culture, something one must capture while touring around the city and to other tourist destination in Cebu.
So we entered SM Seaside's sky park, a recreational area perfect for everyone. It is wide and an open area where you can relax and enjoy. Staying here for a while is free and you get to enjoy the tranquil view of the sea and breathe in fresher air from the sea. The area is wide enough for kids to roam around safely. As for me, I love the view and the scenery so instead of just siting and relaxing, I couldn't help but look and walk around. I was here to relax my wandering feet but this place is just full of wonders.
My kids upon seeing the playground run directly to the area and enjoyed the slides and the rides.
While the kids were enjoying the playground while being watched over by their father, I took the opportunity to walk around.
I found these pyramid shaped furnitures on the artificial grass. There were people inside relaxing. What a perfect way to relax at the moment while the sun was shining brightly.
Walking farther to the left side of the park, there are these glass-walled buildings. Inside are food stalls, coffee shops and some were still empty. The buildings are surrounded by water. Not sure about the purpose of this water surrounding it but it surely adds to its aesthetics.
I continued my walk and saw this replica of the magnificent cube which symbolizes the grandeur of this mall. The cube is located in front of the mall.
For me, a park is not a park without the trees. I was amazed how they were able to grow trees here. I wonder if their roots won't damage the building as they grow older. But I really love the view of the trees. With them, it doesnt' feel like I am in the third floor of a building.
There is also a wide area that looks empty. There were benches so I think this will be used if there are event happenings such as birthday celebrations, concerts, reception or other gatherings or activties.
Bushes were planted on plant boxes along the glass railings. This adds safety to people since you cannot just run towards the railings. You have to step on these bushes if you really wanted to but that might cause a problem.
After enjoying my short walk at the sky park, I finally rested my wandering feet on the articial grass under the shade of the tree while feeling the cool wind and took this photo of the tower one last time before we head back inside to have some snack.
Before we left the mall to catch up with our trip back home, we couldn't leave without taking a some snaps with its iconic cube structure.
That concludes my #WednesdayWalk initiated by ... 'Til next time. Thank you for your time.
