I thought and tried to understand the attraction I feel for black and white. Eventually, I realized that it is probably due to my dualistic and unshakable nature. As you can see from my self-characterization: I'm a pessimist who appreciates optimism, so I like extremes and relativity.
Today is about the sky! Easy and hard at the same time. We have to look up.
I make a distinction between black and white photography and color photography. Everyone does, obviously, but everyone has their own criteria. For me, the difference is given by my mental state. Color is intense life, is the reality shown in the smallest details, an accessible reality and a generally good and optimistic state. For me color means optimism.
On the other hand, black and white is more hidden and more mysterious. When everything is shown only in black and white and a few shades of gray it can be believed that many of the details of the image are hidden. Leave the imagination free, each of us can understand something else about the same image. For me, black and white means nostalgia and pessimism.
This means that when I want to post in this contest, #monomad, I am usually nostalgic or sad. Many times even without realizing it. Now I just need black and white. A contrast and an antithesis to our colorful world, sometimes too colorful.
Because very often I forget the existence of the sky because of the life so hectic. However, the sky is there, in the background.
For this reason, the photos I put below don't show a sky as the main subject. The models are different but the sky is always present in the background. Waiting to be noticed!
