I recently visited an exhibition.
It was by accident. It's been many years since I used to go from one exhibition to another. The beautiful years of my youth.
It's a great pity if you live in a city big enough that there can be several exhibitions at once, not to want to see them all.
Art, however, it is expressed, brings something pleasurable to the viewer. It brings someone's talent, it puts before us a person's ability to create something beautiful, something attractive, or something we don't like but can still appreciate the effort put in, to recognize the originality.
There are just a few broad categories that visual art falls into, such as painting and sculpture, the oldest art forms. We have examples and evidence as far back as prehistoric times, such as cave paintings, thousands of years old, as well as sculptures unearthed by archaeologists... even older.
Contemporary art is looking for new forms of expression, in fact, artists are looking for new ways to make art, each one seems to have the desire to bring something new, from the form to the materials used.
The exhibition I visited is by a Romanian sculptor, Dan Botezan. An appreciated artist that I like very much. His sculptures, mainly animals and insects, are this time a kind of collage, he uses different household objects taken from the dismantling of some machines, to assemble some strange, strangely beautiful beings.
This visit to Dan Botezan's exhibition I will show in detail in tomorrow's post in @dswigle's #MarketFriday community. Right now I've just put up a few images in the hope that those who want to see more... will!
