One song per week. I like music a lot and I decided to post a song once a week, a song that impressed me in my youth. Because my youth was a long time ago, the music is also old. Old and wonderful!
A good friend of ours, a colleague in Steemit, put a question a few days ago. The question was this: how would we want the world to remember us after we will not be here among the living.
My answer and my desire is for the world to remember me as a good man. The rest doesn't matter, if you were a good man, the memories of you will be beautiful.
Now, I cannot say that I am a good man. That's what the others have to say, those people who know me well enough. What I can say about myself, without being stupid, is that I'm a melancholy man.
A melancholic man, a man who loves loneliness and meditation, a man who loves the rain. These thoughts came when, by chance, I once again listened to an old song of Moody Blues ...
I'm a melancholy man, that's what I am,
All the world surrounds me, and my feet are on the ground.
I'm a very lonely man, doing what I can,
All the world astounds me and I think I understand
That we're going to keep growing, wait and see.
When all the stars are falling down
Into the sea and on the ground,
And angry voices carry on the wind,
A beam of light will fill your head
And you'll remember what's been said
By all the good men this world's ever known.
Another man is what you'll see,
Who looks like you and looks like me,
And yet somehow he will not feel the same,
His life caught up in misery, he doesn't think like you and me,
'Cause he can't see what you and I can see.
Of course, this song is not "Nights In White Satin", their great success. Another icon of the 70s.
The wonderful song ... fits a melancholy man.
Thanks for listening.
