By days' end, the original advisory posted on its official website had been removed, and a "revised wording" posted which in short said: Software updates should do the job. (the cached original...available). The updated support document now only recommends to apply software updates, with a table grouping links to official patches from companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Mozilla, and others: US-CERT.

Fact is...software patching will compromise performance based on a plethora of variables and/or implementations along with dubious (high-risk) SQA release updates e.g. like Windows 7 BSODs [ Blue Screen after KB4056894] on Friday. It just never ends.

Amazon, Google, DOD; large, medium and small scale companies across the spectrum will follow the original advisory (much has already been written this week and lots more to follow within the prodigious lamestream media oopsee-verse); and the revisionists advisory conforming to the prevailing corporate (bottom) line, is...what it is.

Also if you have a HP laptop - there is a voluntary battery recall alert issued on Jan-05: subject to heat-injury and/or fire threat.
