It's The Circle Of Life!
This Mourning Dove had a bad recently
Yesterday, while cooking out on the deck, I noticed, a hawk. Nearby.
At that time of night, it was about a dozen goldfinches, a few Titmouse, a couple Catbirds, and a half dozen mourning doves. Inside I went, with the empty plate, after I put the steak on the grille. Spent some time, getting my Dirty Smashed, Red Bliss potato ready, and by the time I came back out, the hawk was gone, most of the birds were gone, except for some Goldfinches and a couple chickadees. OH, and also, a bunch of tiny white feathers. ...And a bunch of Red Blood on the deck.
I saw the Hawk leaving a tall tree a bit later, with something in his beak. It was small and he was distant. I thought it was a mouse. turns out, I know where Lefty's Right is.
...or rather, Was.
For the sake of ... propriety, I prefer not to show the shot of the leg, in the Hawk's mouth.
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!
