Red Tail Following Me

Today was not my favorite day! That's probably an understatement of my day... First off, I was supposed to meet up for some time in the woods with owls and some wildlife photographers and naturalists. That didn't happen!

Then, it was one argument after another. Clearly, everyone in this house was on edge. I should have checked my temper at the door, but, I was already disappointed in a canceled trip with friends and my camera. That didn't happen!
Minutes after arguing with family, it was an insurance nightmare. Another 90 plus minute call, in a long line of 9 phone calls and long waits with help... and it ended in even more frustration. We've been trying to get something cleared up for, well... since first week of December. That didn't happen!
Anyone who has ever chased an insurance issue, or dealt with calling accounting and tried to settle reimbursement issues knows my frustration.

Seriously, every place I turned today, I was met with tenseness or frustration. Even my usual places of peace and sanity... well, except one. I found a voice that centers me. That calms me. That eases my troubles. I found her fascinating. I found looking at her eyes fascinating. As I walked today, out on a nearby field, I kept thinking about her... Watching me. Fascinated, too.
