In this post, we will look at the new legendary reward card venator kinjo. I was graciously gifted this card on SplinterlandsTV by SteveR82. I have really enjoyed playing with this card and felt it was nothing special prior to getting it and using it in this ruleset. First here are the stats and then a battle breakdown.
Venator Kinjo
The reflect shield ability is really where this card shines. As you will see below, it offers an ability to completely eliminate blast from taking out your backline. This ability also works when kinjo attacks a thorns monster as well. As the card is leveled up, I think at the highest level with the amplify this card can excel even further. Pairing this with a taunt monster and one with magic reflect or return fire or thorns make this card a real game changer in certain rulesets. Now we will take a look at the card in action. Round 1
My strategy in this battle was to keep my oshannus alive as long as possible dealing magic blast damage. The kinjo is imperative to keep my backline alive for my healer as well as the water elemental. My opponent strategy seemed to be focused around the pelacor arbilist dealing enough damage to eliminate my monsters before he fell into the first position. Throughout round 1, my strategy seems to be working quite well as I eliminate his second monster and lose no health.
Round 2
In round 2, I am able to take out his zenith monk as well as one of his archers while still losing minimal health and none of my backline monsters.
Round 3
This round is the end of the match as the heal and kinjo reflecting blast damage is too much for my opponent to defeat. At the end of the round, I have full health for my oshannus and his arbilist in first position which means game over.
As you can see, the kinjo is quite powerful in blast rulesets when you can put him behind your main tank. Given my opponent's last match I new he would attack the front line however a taunt monster also works quite well for this strategy. These new reward cards are very powerful in certain rulesets and I hope you are all enjoying them as much as me. Please upvote or comment with any other ways you use this great monster card.
