In this article, we will look at the changes that just finished up in the PTR stage. We have five cards that I believe have been impacted in the largest way better or worse. The dralamar and prayer of the desperate changes I will not bring up as these have been well documented and talked about. Without further delay, let us get into the five cards.
1. Armory Heist
The heist card did not see much gameplay and so this change is much needed. Relic decks especially for war can be quite challenging to deal with for aggro/hidden deception. With this card, there is some more even playing field to delay the buffed relics war can deal out. The mana cost diminishing to two will obviously allow this card to play fairly well with aggro deception decks.
2. Penumbra Howler
The howler was a staple for most nature decks in the aggro and mid range style. The change is a huge nerf to this card in my opinion and would send nature way down the meta rank. The only saving grace for this card is a casino aspect where you could delve a legendary card early in the match which may turn the tide. There is a lot of RNG in that however which is not to my liking. Bumping up the mana cost from 1 to 2 may be a slight change to this card that would make it less OP but not totally useless.
3. Singsong satyr
Another nature nerf here with the satyr proposed change. I agree that this card paired with the howler was real tough with aggro nature however I believe again it has gone a bit too far. Putting a god to sleep lends itself minimal benefit in my opinion making this card take a big plunge in usability. Raising the mana cost would be a good start and possibly changing to give +1 to each wild card or to another faction would make a less sweeping buff to all of your cards on the board.
4. Mountain Watcher
Really think this is a savvy buff to this card and will result in more play time for the watcher. Empower three and three mana was just too long into the game for this card to be usable and there are better options for war with that six mana cost. With the proposed change, the watcher can now be played much sooner and along with an aggro or mid range style. The card is by no means a must have for any deck but should see more play time in the future.
5. Blizzard Bolt
A subtle change to the bolt card however could prove to be quite valuable for certain magic styles of play. Three damage will take care of most cards early in the game but will have a tough time getting through armor and high health later in the game. With magic liking to extend the game, this card could see more play time in the future.
As you can see above, nature really took a hit with these changes making it less viable in the meta. For a god that was having trouble finding it's footing even before the changes, this is a real back breaker for nature players. Please upvote or comment if you have any other cards that you feel saw important changes.
