Boston Dynamics robots can now open doors and escape.
SpotMini is the name of this robot and its arm is able to open doors. The feat was shown on video and the agility of the arm is impressive, as well as the robot's ability to maintain balance as the door is pushed open.
For now, Boston Dynamics does not say what mechanisms or changes were made in the new Spot Mini and the video is too short or vague to see them.
The most interesting thing about this video is the fact that the "closed door problem" was detected by the other robot.
Then the arm robot comes and helps to open the door.
This is kinda fascinating and scary at the same time because it appears that they can "talk" to each other.
I'll leave the here the full youtube video so you can check it out. (45 sec video)
Let me know what you guys and gals think of this.
