Microsoft has terminated support for Windows XP Home and Professional back in 2014, ceasing to release security updates and providing technical support for its operating system distributed since 2001.

On April 9, two days ago, Microsoft pulled the plug on the support of this version for ATMs and embedded devices, decreeing the actual death of Windows XP .
Other company variants of Windows XP - such as Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and Windows Embedded for Point of Service SP3 - had survived the 2014 formal farewell, but exhaled their last breath in January of this year and in 2016 respectively.
