Great review. I agree with you on some points. I like how it ended, for the most part. I might have changed a few details, but the first three episodes of the season were total crap. They were not well-written. I wish they had waited until GRRM finished writing the books. Then they would have the same source material for the final two seasons. Season 7 wasn't great, but it was much better than Season 8. After episode 3, the season got better. I wish they hadn't cut it short. They should have made the season the same length as all the others so they could develop more of the story arcs. But, it is what it is.
