Here are average deaths from flu on a yearly basis in the US: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html

Covid deaths are about nine times higher than influenza deaths (in a bad year for influenza). And as fredrikaa@fredrikaa mentioned, that is ignoring the unusual long term effects that have been noted with covid.
