That seems to be the general opinion :-) And I don't have a strong opinion on it, it was just a suggestion.

But honestly speaking, I think it's fear more than actual analysis that drives the negative opinion of the idea.

For example, let's say curation was cut by 50% rather than 75%. Does that also sound like it would kill the platform too? If so, then the platform should have died before the EIP, because that was the curation rate then. In fact, a 50% cut of curation rewards would actually still reward curators more than before the EIP, because curators are also investors and they would gain a lot of it back via the reduction in inflation.

Anyways, I think the best reason not to try it is just people are too fearful of a change of this type.
