What’s going on guys, I’m jade from block info and welcome to my channel. And today I’m here to talk about EOS. i’ll talk about the team, some features advantages, disadvantages and updated news of eos. This could be a long video. But stay tuned guys.
Currently, EOS is No.9 in coinmarketcap website. Which means it has the 9th largest market cap in cryptocurrencies today. And what you should know is their ICO is still running until June 2018. So right now, circulating supply is about 600 million but their total distribution amount will be 1 billion EOS token.
To explain EOS in one sentence, EOS.IO is software that introduces a blockchain architecture designed to enable vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications. So they are building their own platform but EOS token is ERC20 token of Ethereum so it is pretty complicated than other ICOs. Which causing them “scheme issues: every time the price drops. Okay we’ll get into this later , let’s look at the eoa team first.
If you want to know EOS, I think you should know these three people. Brock pierce, brendan blumer, and dan larimer, So Brock piece is a founder of blockchain capital eos, and also a chairman of the bitcoin foundation. so he owns a lots of bitcoin and has been in this cryptocurrency market for a very long time , And brendan is CEO of block one. And dan is CTO of block one.
So blockchain capital is investing in block one, and block one is building the eos.io software.
If you check out the blockchain capital website. You can see many companies they are investing in. changetip has been acquired by airbnb, bitnet has been acquired by rakuten. And currently, they are investing in 0x, ripple, ledgerX, coinbase, civic including block.one.
And for Dan Larimer, the CTO who’s leading the eos.io software development, he already has many experiences in blockchain technology, he developed bitshares, fully functional decentralized exchange in 2014. That was his first project. And second, he made steemit. The 1st blockchain that rewards people in 2016.
Steem and bitshares are listed in coinmarketcap at 31 and 38.
Like I said, bitshares is an open-source, blockchain-based, decentralized asset exchange
And steemit is a blogging and social networking website on top of steem circlechain database.and the steem blockchain produces steem and steem dollars. Which are tradeable tokens that users obtain for posting, discovering, and commenting on interesting content. Isn’t that cool? I can earn cryptocurrencies just by posting and liking and leaving comments on website? I wish youtube and facebook also has this features.
Anyway, so according to blockchain activity matrix, you can see steem has the most blockchain activities, much more than any other cryptocurrencies. Even more than ethereum or bitcoin. And bitshares also has high activity rates more than bitcoin and other cryptos. Which makes sense, since I like or leave comments more than making payments a day. And! More importantly, each transactions on ethereum and bitcoin cost money. I have to pay transaction fees, right? But on steemit, no one charge me for posting and liking conetnts.so it’s free
Alright, so we now know that eos has a great CTO dan larimer. He already made bitshares and steem, why does he want to make eos?. According to his presentation, bitcoin was the 1st blockchain evolution proved the concept of a trustless ledger, and ethereum was the second that proved the demand for generalised smart contracts. And the next blockchain evolution must be able to deliver a high performance platform for smart business.
And then he explained high performance, saying today, there are 20,000 transfers per second for currencies, 52,000 facebook likes per second, 100,000 trades in exchanges per second. And reality is bitcoin supports only 3 transactions per second, and ethereum supports 30 transactions per second. And there’s a huge gap between the requirements and the reality and he’s trying to minimize those gaps with eos by supporting millions of transactions.
So to explain eos simply. Eos is an operating system like macOS connecting decentralised computer and Dapps.
And these are some features that decentralised applications require including free for app users, upgradable, and account recovery and what I like the most is the account names. Account names would make using blockchain technology so much easier for users. I don’t know just that more than 15 digit of numbers and alphabet really bothers me everytime i make transactions.
and what are the features that EOS has but ethereum doesn’t? First, scalable. They support thousands of dapps with parallel execution, second, flexible, they can freeze and fix broken applications,and third, governance, eos has elected block producers, which helps dispute resolution. Lastly, usable.it enables self describing interfaces, the for developers, they can use web toolkit for interface development. Actually, some of these features are quite similar to Cardano ADA. So many people wonder which one is better? Cardano? Or eos? I wish I can answer that question, but I can’t because of my lack of knowledge. So please share your opinions in comment sections,. That’ll be great.
So more features to summarize, in EOS, users don’t have to pay which is the most important advantage they have. Otherwise, i have to pay everytime i click like or subscribe a youtube channel. Yeah so subscribing and leaving comments on this video is free.. So feel free to subscribe and like my videos guys. And they use delegated proof of stake which enables governance, upgrade, fast and cheap transactions.
And disadvantages. The EOS token is NOT an actual eos platform coin! It’s ERC20 token on ethereum blockchain. So this is the main arguments people are having for is EOS a scheme? Because on eos token purchase agreement, it basically says “block one will develop EOS, but they won’t launch it and other third party may launch it, then the ERC20 tokens we are buying from ICO will not be transferable to the EOS platform and “may have no value.”.
It’s very confusing but so you should definitely read this post on steemit. The writier says so block one is taking a snapshot of the state of the ledger and building the EOS genesis block out ot that snapshot of ownership,. And Dan larimer already have done this several times with Bitshares community. So there’s nothing new here, this thing happened successfully many times with Protoshares, angelshares and Notes( muse. So no one can guarantee that EOS would do the same, but for the people who decided to hold ERC20 tokens even after EOS ICO, they should generate EOS public and private key pair before the snapshot.
I also want to point out EOS trading volume, 70% is happening in Korea with 17% premium. Of course it’s just a trading volume not the holding amount, but too much speculative money in eos trading volume. And EOS is not the only one, there are so many cryptos have over 50% Korean market trading volume. You can check them out on my last video.
Lastly, EOS uopdates.
Eos will be listed on ZENIEX. A new coin exchange in Korea, has a partnership with some chinese companies. It opens Jan 2018. Very soon.
And to summarize EOS seoul meetup, Everipedia the 1st decentralized encyclopedia on the blockchain, they will airdrop their IQ token to eos token holders, and EOS vc will invest 1 billion dollars on other projects too for couple of years, so I’m assuming that there will be more airdrop after everipedia. And Richard Jung, former CEO of bithumb becomes a head of EOS KOREA.
AND they recently announced 2 EOS VC partnership. Tomorrow BC and Galaxy digital. So the latest one was this, galaxy digital will invest $325 million EOS.IO ecosystem fund.
And personally, I think the first one was quite huge. So tomorrow blockchain, the creation of a fund to exclusively invest in EOS.IO software. What we should know is that this tmrwBC is a managing partner of Eric Schmidt’s venture firm, tmrw Ventures. And Eric smichst is the executive chairman of Alphabet Inc. the parent company of Google.
I think this is very similar to Peter Thiel , the paypal co-founder and an early investor in facebook. He bought millions of dollars in bitcoin. And I think it’s similar to Eric investing in EOS. since he invested in EOS,there are so many positives things. But I don’t want to get into it too much, I’m not a financial advisor. I just want to share the information AND MY OPINIONS that I learned from studying EOS.

어쨋든, Blockchain Activity Matrix에 따르면Steem이 가장 활발한 블록체인 활동을 보입니다. 이더리움과 비트코인을 포함한 다른 어떤 암호화폐보다도 많은데요.Bitshares도 비트코인과 다른 암호화폐들보다도 활동이 많아요.
그래서 우린 이제 EOS가 Dan이라는 훌륭한 기술자가 있다는 걸 알았죠?Dan은 이미 Bitshares랑 Steem을 만들었는데왜 EOS를 만들려는 걸까?
그의 프리젠테이션에 따르면,블록체인 진화의 첫번째가 비트코인,신용 없는 장부의 개념을 증명했고,
두번째 진화가 이더리움일반적인 스마트 컨트랙의 수요를 증명했죠.
그 다음 진화는 스마트 비지니스를 위한 고성능 플랫폼을 제공해야한다고 하는데요.
Dan이 말하는 고성능은오늘날 1초에 20,000 이체가 일어나고50,000 페이스북 좋아요100,000의 거래가 거래소에서1초에 일어납니다.
근데 현실은비트코인은 1초당 거래 3개이더리움은 1초당 거래 30개를 서포트하죠. 그럼 필요조건이랑 현실 사이에 엄청난 차이가 존재합니다.그래서 Dan이 초당 수백만 거래를 지원하는 EOS로 이 차이를 최소화 하려고 합니다.
EOS를 간단히 설명하면요.EOS는 macOS처럼 분산 컴퓨터와 Dapp을 연결하는 역할을 하는데요.그리고 Dapp들이 필요로하는 기능들이 있는데요.앱유저들이 무료로 사용하는 것, 업그레이드 기능, 계정 복구하는 기능,그리고 제가 제일 좋아하는 건 계정 이름인데요.왜냐면 거래할때마다 15자리가 넘는 숫자랑 알파벳 조합이진짜 불편하거든요.그래서 계정 이름이랑 계정 복구 기능이 있어서해킹당하거나 까먹었을때 계정복구 할 수 있으면완전 좋을 것 같아요.제가 알기로는 Steemit은 이미 가능한걸로 알아요.
그리고 EOS는 있는데 이더리움은 없는 기능이 뭐나면요.첫번째, 확장성인데상업적 규모의 수천개의 Dapp을 지원합니다. 두번째, 융통성고장난 어플리케이션을 중단시키고 수정합니다.세번째, 통치성EOS는 선출된 블록 생산자들을 가지고 있어서분쟁해결을 도와줍니다. 마지막으로 사용성자체 설명 인터페이스를 사용하구요개발자들은 인터페이스 개발을 위해 Webtoolkit을 사용할 수 있습니다.
사실 여러 기능들이 Cardano 에이다와 비슷한데요.그래서 많은 사람들이 뭐가 더 좋은지 궁금해 합니다.EOS? 에이다?저도 진짜 몰라요.저도 그 질문에 대답하고 싶은데제가 지식이 너무 부족해서 대답을 못드려요.혹시 대답 가능하신 분들 계시면댓글란에 공유 부탁드립니다.그레잇일 거에요.
그리고 단점들! 중요하죠EOS토큰은 실제 EOS플랫폼에 사용되는 코인이 아니에요.이더리움 기반에 ERC20토큰인데요.이게 “EOS는 스캠인가?”라는 토론의 메인 주제인데요.
왜냐면 EOS 토큰 구매 협정에뭐라고 적혀있냐면,“블록원은 EOS를 개발하지만 런칭은 안할거고, 다른 제3자가 런칭할건데, 그러면 우리가 ICO에서 사는 ERC20토큰은 EOS플랫폼으로 양도되지 않을 거고, 가치가 없을 수 도 있다.”이거 완전 헷갈려요.그래서 여러분이 Steemit에 포스트를 보셔야하는데글쓴이에 따르면,블록원이 원장에 소유권의 스냅샷을 찍고 EOS Genesis Block을 만들거라고 하는데.
그리고 Dan은 이미 이런걸 Bitshares 커뮤니티랑 여러번 했다고 하는데요그래서 이게 그들한테는 별로 새롭지 않다고 하는데Protoshares, Angelshares, NOTEs가 예시인데요.이미 전에 여러 성공사례가 있다고 해도EOS가 똑같이 성공한다고는 아무도 장담할 수 없죠.근데 ERC20 토큰을 EOS ICO 이후에도 들고계실 분은EOS 스냅샷전에 public이랑 private key를 생성하셔야 될 것 같습니다.
또 제가 말씀드리고 싶은 것은EOS 거래량의 70%가 17%의 프리미엄이 붙은 가격으로 한국에서 거래되고 있는데요.당연히 보유량이 아니라 거래량이지만EOS 거래에 현재 많은 투기성 자본이 들어와 있을 수 있는거죠.근데 EOS뿐만이 아니에요.한국시장에서 거래량이 50%가 넘는 암호화폐들이 아주 많아요.제 지난 영상에서 확인 가능합니다.
