Want a good bedtime story to read to the little ones? Try How Moon Tricked Sun by Janet Craig. This is a story about day and night as retold by Janet Craig. I am sure it will become a favorite and maybe the first one your little ones will read back to you or along with you!
The author called the sun and moon brothers. One is the big brother and the other is the little brother. Can you guess which is which?
Oh, and guess what the two brothers did every day?

Every day the two brothers played. They loved to chase each other across the sky.

At some point the two quarrel but they were not the same. They both had different personalities and attributes. They went back to chasing each other and it’s been that way every since because Sun has never caught his little brother moon.
After the emperor received a gift of a mechanical nightingale that sung beautifully the real nightingale took the opportunity to escape from the palace back into the forest.
Years went by and the mechanical bird began to sing only once a year. While the emperor lay on his bed begging the mechanical nightingale to sing but no one was there to wind him up. The emperor laid dying and begging the mechanical bird to sing and then he heard the real nightingale sing throw his window. The music revived his health and he became healthier.
I like this book because of the author who wrote it. It is a good story to share during story time.
