This isn't actually a proper question to be honest. In terms of pure numbers, WWE has the the overwhelming advantage. From a report I've read, WWE has a massive 1.2 billion fans versus UFC's 700 million. Regardless though, both numbers are nothing to sneeze about and are absolutely staggering.
It might seem like a moot point too, now that both the WWE and UFC are actually one combined entity after the takeover by UFC's parent company. Both have been combined into a mega sports entertainment group.
I'm not sure if there's an overlap between the majority of their fans, but at the very least, they both seem to target different groups of people. Most people would know that WWE's wrestling is just a "show" while UFC is "the real thing". The entertainment they both offer comes from very different places.
To me, the WWE's scripted storylines makes it more like a reality tv show with physical action. The UFC also has it's fair share of shit talking and pre competition hype but it all comes down to the fighters pummelling each other into a bloody swollen mess on the match day itself.
I think the better question would be, which sport do you think will have more viewers IN THE FUTURE? Do share your thoughts. 😁
