A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! 🥳🥳🥳 WOO!

There is something slightly suspicious about a quiet weekend in WOO, especially when we have just had a major Ranked Gameplay update dropped in front of us. One minute everyone is talking about Ranked, Async Shows, mystery opponents and FIFO matchmaking, and the next minute the weekend arrives and WOO suddenly becomes very quiet. Naturally, as a fan, I have decided there must be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this.

I have gotten some feedback that reminders are pretty useful when it comes to the regular events held in WOO. So here I am again with a quick reminder for any upcoming events.

Maybe WOO simply needs to catch its breath.

The latest Ranked update is not exactly a tiny change that can be read once and forgotten about. The entire way players approach Ranked has changed. Instead of needing two people to be searching for a match at roughly the same time, players can now create a Ranked Show, lock their lineup and leave it sitting there for another real player to challenge. That is a pretty significant change to how the Ranked Ladder works, and perhaps this weekend is simply the calm period where everyone gets used to it.

I can imagine WOO sitting quietly in the background while players figure everything out. Who is going to create the first Show? How quickly will people pick up pending matches? Will players prefer becoming Promoters or Challengers? How many people are going to discover that they can submit their lineup and walk away instead of staring at a matchmaking screen?

There is also the small matter of the 24 hour waiting period. A Ranked Show does not need to be answered immediately anymore, so perhaps the weekend is naturally going to feel different. The action can be spread throughout the day rather than concentrated into a particular moment when everyone happens to be online. A player might create a Show in the morning, somebody else might challenge it hours later, and the actual match can then happen without either person ever needing to be online together.

That actually makes the quietness rather amusing. WOO might look quiet from the outside, but there could be Ranked Shows quietly waiting in the background, with players coming and going at completely different times. The lack of noise does not necessarily mean nothing is happening.

Maybe this is one of those weekends where WOO does not need another event piled on top of everything else. The new Ranked system has just given players something to explore, test and understand. Instead of adding another distraction, perhaps the best thing is simply to let everyone play around with the new system and see how it feels.

Of course, I am only a WOO fan trying to explain why the weekend is suspiciously quiet. I have absolutely no inside information. But if anyone asks why there is no huge weekend event, I think “WOO is catching its breath after changing Ranked” sounds perfectly reasonable.

After all, sometimes the wrestling show is not quiet because nothing is happening. Sometimes it is quiet because everybody backstage is waiting to see what happens when the next bell rings.

TLDR: This is a reminder to all my readers (and WOO fans) that baring any last minute sudden surprise events, this weekend should be a relatively quiet one. 😜

Well, that's it for today. We will continue again tomorrow! 😁 WOO! 🎉
